Q-Park named Parking Operator of the Year

Q-Park is honoured to have been named the Parking Operator of the Year at the British Parking Awards 2022. Q-Park also won the Parking Partnership Award for its Autopay collaboration with RingGo.

The British Parking Awards were launched by Parking Review magazine in 2002 and were immediately recognised as the ultimate recognition of excellence and achievement in parking management, design and innovation. Q-Park has a decorated history at these awards, scooping prizes on multiple occasions as well as many other nominations.

Parking Operator of the Year

The ‘Parking Operator of the Year’ category covers parking providers who create a positive experience for motorists. The prize recognises work done to create easy-to-understand, non-confrontational and person-centric services. Q-Park demonstrated that its experience and continuing commitment to Quality, Innovation and Positive Change helped it stand out above the other nominees for this award. Quality doesn't end at what customers physically see in the car park, it's also how Q-Park gets itself to the forefront of technological innovation to provide a more seamless customer journey. Ranging from the installation of market leading PaSS Automatic Number Plate Recognition systems as well as the ongoing Electric Vehicle charging point rollout, Q-Park is always looking to improve the services it offers.

As well as advancements in technology, Q-Park also demonstrated how it invests in both facilities and staff to ensure that what customers experience during their visit leaves them with a positive memory of their day. Q-Park takes the safety and security of customer vehicles very seriously and takes various measures to reduce crime ranging from regular patrols, extensive CCTV coverage, bright LED lighting and customer only entrances. As well as this, parking spaces that are wider than the industry average alleviate the risks of bumps and scratches.

Customers sometimes need assistance, they can speak to a Parking Host on site who can assist with any queries that they may have. Having a physical presence also helps provide peace of mind to customers about the security of their vehicle. Q-Park doesn't believe that simply having a Parking Host in the car park office 24/7 provides the best value to both customers and the wider business. Q-Park's preference is that Parking Hosts are fully mobile within the facility, undertaking cleaning tasks and also removing any person who should not be there. Should a customer require assistance and are not able to locate a Parking Host, they can simply press the Assistance button on any barrier, payment machine or help point. This will transfer them through to our 24/7 Customer Service Centre based in Leeds. The operatives can assist the customer with most queries, and if necessary, can call the local response number to request a Parking Host urgently attend to provide customer support.

Parking Partnerships Award

The ‘Parking Partnerships Award’ recognises the importance of partnership working in the parking sector. The partnership may involve pairings or groups of local authorities, companies, professional bodies, campaign groups, and other stakeholders. Q-Park has won this award alongside the popular parking app, RingGo, for their AutoPay solution. This unique agreement combines Q-Park’s innovative new PaSS system and the AutoPay feature of the RingGo platform to provide safe and secure parking to RingGo’s 18 million users in the UK. All RingGo users who have registered their number plates in the app are able to use Q-Park facilities ticket-less, cash-less and touch-free.

Adam Bidder, Managing Director of Q-Park UK commented ‘We are delighted to have been recognised as the best parking operator in the UK. We have always believed that this has been the case and it's a huge honour to be recognised by our industry peers for this. The unique way we operate also allows us to partner with other businesses such as our friends at RingGo, the Parking Partnership Award that we also won is testament to this.’
